Jerod Barker is an illustrator, graphic designer and fine artist living in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA. He is currently pursuing a second bachelor's degree in Zoology at Colorado State University, with plans to work as a wildlife biologist and scientific illustrator. He graduated with a BFA in Illustration & Animation from the University of Kansas in 2015 and later learned how to screen print at the Lawrence Arts Center in downtown Lawrence, KS.
He relocated to Boulder, CO in 2016, where he was thrilled to have a mural commissioned by residents in Martin Park through Boulder Parks & Recreation. The work features client-selected sheet music and a quote from musician and activist Nina Simone. Another of his proudest moments was having his gig poster design selected by the band Silversun Pickups for their Spring 2017 Tour, generating thousands in poster sales, all of which was donated to the ACLU.
As a full-time student, Jerod currently works as a freelance designer for multiple agencies, a Bison Caretaker for the Animal Reproduction & Biotechnology Laboratory at CSU and Communications Assistant for local non-profit Crowd Conservation.
Recently, his screen print "Thrall" was selected for the group show "A Celebration of Colorado" at the Museum of Art Fort Collins, and his illustration "Proto" was selected for the student show “Synthesis” at the Lory Student Center at CSU. His screen print "Dreams" was also selected for the 2026 Denver Fringe Festival Art Exhibition and will feature in the upcoming issue of The Rebis, an annual print anthology of art and poetry, with all sales profits going to social justice organizations.
